The first thing visitors explore upon arrival is the lighthouse itself—a majestic, captivating, and intriguing sight. Near the lighthouse, breathtaking views unfold, overlooking the bay, the endless sea, elegant sailboats, and luxurious yachts. This is a truly magnificent place where the refreshing sea breeze surrounds you, filling you with an incredible sense of freedom and pure joy for life. There is a café on the lighthouse grounds, though it usually operates only during the summer season, adding to the charm of this stunning location. During this time, the atmosphere becomes even more romantic, making it a truly special place to visit. It is one of the best places in Montenegro.

Where it is located and how to get there

You can reach this place by taxi, your own or a rented car, or by boat. The drive from Kotor to Lustica Bay takes about 20 minutes without traffic, covering a distance of 12.7 km. From Tivat, the journey also takes around 20 minutes, but often longer due to heavy traffic both in the city and on the outskirts, especially near the airport. The taxi fare is typically just over 20 euros, depending on your location, but I recommend confirming the price in advance. Traveling by boat will vary in cost depending on your starting point, as the journey requires navigating around the peninsula, significantly increasing travel time. I’ve included a map of Lustica’s location below. There are plenty of parking spaces on-site, but they are paid. Surveillance cameras are in operation, and upon entry, the system scans the vehicle's license plate and records the time of arrival. Free parking is only available at the top of the peninsula, and you will need to walk downhill for some time.

The Lustica Peninsula is vast, well-maintained, and impeccably clean. The buildings vary in size but blend harmoniously into the landscape, creating a stunning architectural ensemble. Lush greenery is scattered throughout the area, enhancing the beauty of this incredible place and making every moment feel special. It is truly one of the best places to experience both relaxation and luxury on the Montenegrin coast. The peninsula offers a wide range of apartments at different price points and levels of comfort. These accommodations come with various features, including verandas, balconies with sea or mountain views, swimming pools, and more. Some also have their own restaurants and offer rooms with breakfast included. Parking spaces are available for guests, but arrangements should be made in advance. The best time to visit depends on your preference—summer brings a vibrant atmosphere, while spring and autumn offer a more peaceful and authentic experience.

Lustica Beaches

Lustica Bay has two beaches. If you stand within the resort complex and face the marina and the sea, the beaches will be on your left and right sides. On the left side, closer to the resort, there is a beach exclusively for Lustica Bay residents. The beach on the right side, however, is open to both residents and visitors. Residents have access to the first row of sun loungers, while visitors can settle slightly higher up on comfortable loungers or sofas placed on a well-maintained, terraced hillside. Although this setup provides a scenic and relaxing atmosphere, you will need to walk down to reach the sea. Both beaches feature bars and are well-staffed with attentive service, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all guests.

There are many restaurants here with different designs—some with indoor seating, others with verandas. They offer a variety of menus and wine selections to suit different tastes. Of course, some restaurants also have a children's menu, which is a great relief for parents visiting with their little ones. If you’re here for a stroll and have parked your vehicle within Lustica Bay, make sure to keep your restaurant receipt. Presenting this receipt to the security guards at the exit will allow you to avoid paying for parking. I highly recommend using this hack—it truly works! I’ve personally used it multiple times. Of course, the receipt must be from the same date as your entry to the area.
