This guide lists 2026 rates. At private garages, the rate displayed at the entrance takes precedence over the website, and online booking prices depend on your dates. The list covers public parking, official Park and Ride (P+R) facilities, where drivers leave their cars and transfer to public transport, and major operator-run garages. It does not include small hotel car parks, private lockups, or spaces rented by owners through apps because they do not have permanent citywide rates and opening hours.

Quick choices

Street parking in Nice

Parking on Nice's paid streets is free for two consecutive hours once per day. The free session does not start automatically: take a ticket from the meter or activate rate code 861 in the PayByPhone app. The City of Nice publishes the current rules.

Paid hours run Monday through Saturday from 09:00 to 19:00. Parking within the paid area is free on Sundays and public holidays. The maximum continuous stay is 2 hours 15 minutes.

Within the official paid network, 35 minutes costs €0.50, 1 hour €1.20, and 2 hours €2.40. The listed charge for the maximum 2 hours 15 minutes is €25. This is the forfait post-stationnement (FPS), the French fixed charge for unpaid or insufficiently paid parking. The city publishes the full rules and a map of the paid area.

Parc du Château follows a separate schedule. Parking on montée Eberlé, allée des Justes, allée de la Fontaine aux Oiseaux, and allée François Aragon is charged on weekdays from 09:00 to 19:00 from April through September, and until 18:00 from October through March.

Streets outside the colored zones on the city map may be free if there is no meter, paid-zone sign, or other restriction. That does not mean you can leave a car anywhere. Temporary bans appear during markets, roadworks, and events, while loading bays have their own rules.

Old Town, Cours Saleya, Garibaldi, and the port

Do not drive into the Old Town hoping to find a random space. The streets are narrow, traffic is regulated, and several garages sit within a few minutes' walk of one another. The city confirms a free first hour at Corvésy, Palais de Justice, Saleya, Sulzer, Promenade des Arts, and Marshall. The terms are listed on the Ville de Nice parking page.

Addresses, capacities, and subscriptions for municipal garages come from the current Parkings d'Azur directory. Indigo publishes rates on the Saleya, Barla, and Risso pages.

For the port itself, there is the Parcazur Port Lympia park-and-ride on level -5 of the garage at Quai Amiral Infernet. Its 98 spaces connect directly to Port Lympia tram stop. Visitors can use it only with a ticket for the Lignes d'Azur public transport network, not as a cheap multiday garage.

Place Masséna, Jean Médecin, and Carré d'Or

In the center, Massena and Palais Masséna are especially easy to confuse. The former is on avenue Félix Faure beside Place Masséna. The latter is at 29 Promenade des Anglais, closer to Musée Masséna and Hotel Negresco.

Interparking lists current prices and the Pcard discount on its general Nice parking page. Indigo warns that its figures are estimates and the exact rate is displayed at the entrance. This applies to the pages for Massena, Palais Méditerranée, and Louvre.

Nice-Ville station, Libération, and northern Nice

Two different garages near the main station have addresses on avenue Thiers. Check the street number in your navigation app: the garage operated by EFFIA is at number 12, and Interparking is at number 18. Q-Park Gare du Sud or Jeanne d'Arc is more convenient for Libération market and Gare du Sud.

Eastern Nice: Acropolis, Saint-Roch, and Pasteur

Parking for a longer stay is easier in eastern Nice than in the center. This area has the large Jean Bouin garage, inexpensive short-term passes at Valombrose, and several park-and-ride facilities beside tram stops.

The tourist office confirms that Acropolis - Jean Bouin operates year-round and offers 30 minutes free. Access and availability may change during major events, so check the city's traffic notices before setting out.

Western Nice: Magnan, Carras, Arénas, and Saint-Isidore

The west stretches along the Promenade to the airport. Your best option depends on the trip: Magnan for the beach, Arénas or Nouvel'r for the airport, and Carras or Charles Ehrmann if you want to continue into the center without the car.

Every Parcazur facility within Nice

Parcazur follows the Park and Ride model: leave the car and continue by public transport. Parking is included when the driver makes an outbound and return trip on a valid ticket for the Lignes d'Azur public transport network on the same day. The simplest ticket sold at a park-and-ride machine costs €3.40 for a return trip. A one-day pass costs €7, a two-day pass €13, and a seven-day pass €20. The Solo 1 voyage single-trip ticket and the regional Ticket Azur do not open the exit barrier at every Parcazur facility.

Lignes d'Azur maintains the complete opening hours, capacity figures, and list of eligible tickets. Parcazur is not suitable for storing a car for two days: even 24-hour sites limit continuous parking to 22 hours.

Nice Airport parking

The airport has one shared access zone for Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. It is easiest to select the official garage number in your navigation app and then follow the signs. P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P8, and P9 are the names of the airport's standard car parks. G1 and G2 identify premium garages. The official directory groups the choices into economy P8 and P9, nearby P4 and P6, direct-access P2, P3, and P5, and premium G1 and G2.

The airport offers a three-day weekend rate from €49 for P2, P3, P4, P5, and P6, but the number of spaces at that price is limited. Compare it with P8 and P9 before paying. Free parking, electric vehicles, and spaces for people with reduced mobility

There is no completely free official central garage for a full day. Other free options are time-limited or available only to specific groups of drivers:

• street parking is free on Sundays and public holidays;
• two free hours per day are available after taking a ticket with rate code 861;
• a vehicle with zero carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions can receive 2 hours 15 minutes free after registration;
• holders of a French Mobility Inclusion Card with the parking endorsement (Carte mobilité inclusion - stationnement, CMI-S) or a European Parking Card (Carte européenne de stationnement, CES) park free on the street, but visitors must take a free day ticket using rate code 961 and display the card behind the windshield;
• the city covers the first hour in ten central garages, and the first 30 minutes at Mozart and Acropolis;
• Parcazur is included with a qualifying Lignes d'Azur journey, but requires a public-transport trip and is not a substitute for long-term parking.

For the French Mobility Inclusion Card with the parking endorsement and the European Parking Card, the city separately explains the free day ticket and two-year registration. The number of charging spaces changes quickly, so check the individual garage page before your trip. A charging station does not mean charging is included in the parking price.

How to avoid overpaying

For two hours in the center, start with the city's free period and garages offering a free first hour. For a full day, compare the 24-hour rate rather than the hourly price: neighboring garages can differ by more than €10. For two days or longer, look at Parkings d'Azur short-term passes and operator packages instead of paying the standard daily rate over and over.

For travel within Nice itself, a car usually brings more expense than convenience. If you need it only for trips along the French Riviera, consider leaving it at your accommodation or in a long-stay garage and walking or taking the tram in the center. Before entering, check three things: vehicle height, the final rate on the sign, and closing time. At a park-and-ride facility, also make sure your ticket will open the exit barrier. Those four checks are more useful than any old list of the "cheapest garages," because rates, discounts, and event access change.
