This guide covers municipal and private parking, blue zones, beach options, and a separate campervan area. I included places ordinary visitors can use, but not hotel, casino, or shop parking reserved for customers. I checked prices on August 24, 2026. Where a private garage has no public price list, I label the figure as an estimate or say that it needs confirmation.

Sanremo parking at a glance

Municipal visitor prices come from the tariff introduced in 2025. Nonresidents pay €2.10/hour in blue zones and municipal garages, while Sanremo residents pay €1.80/hour. Palafiori gives 45 free minutes, and the station and Dapporto give 30 (La Stampa). Always read the sign at the entrance because events and seasonal rules can override normal conditions.

Palafiori: best for the center and Teatro Ariston

Parcheggio Palafiori is at Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi, 36. Piazza Colombo is a few minutes away, while Teatro Ariston and the start of Via Matteotti are about a 5 to 7-minute walk.

Visitors get the first 45 minutes free, then pay €2.10/hour, up to €21 for 10 paid hours. The garage is open around the clock. Published material lists 321 spaces. During the Sanremo Festival, part or all of it may close to ordinary visitors (La Stampa).

This would be my first choice for a normal visit to the center. Entry is clearer than searching the narrow streets around La Pigna, and the free period is useful for dropping off passengers or luggage. The MYBA organizers list +39 0184 591600 for Palafiori. The MYBA Charter Show 2026 manual confirms the addresses of four main covered garages.

Railway-station parking

Parcheggio Nuova Stazione Ferroviaria is on Piazzale Don Orione by Corso Cavallotti. Do not confuse it with the square by the former seafront station. The current station lies east of the center.

The first 30 minutes are free. Visitors then pay €2.10/hour, up to €21 for 10 paid hours. A weekly pass costs €90 and is available to nonresidents. The garage operates 24/7, and municipal rules limit continuous stays in city facilities to seven days (municipal parking rules).

Use it to meet a train, leave a car for several days, or explore eastern Sanremo. Villa Ormond and Portosole are closer than from Palafiori. The Ariston is roughly a 12 to 15-minute walk.

Calvino/Dapporto: by the sea and old station

Parcheggio Calvino/Dapporto occupies Lungomare Italo Calvino and Piazzale Carlo Dapporto. Municipal rules classify it as a barrier-controlled, video-monitored, 24-hour car park. It is separate from the blue zones on the north side of Lungomare Italo Calvino.

The first 30 minutes are free, then nonresidents pay €2.10/hour. A seven-day product costs €90 but may have capacity limits and may be suspended on holidays or during major events. The location is convenient for Forte Santa Tecla, Porto Vecchio, the cycle path, casino, and western Via Matteotti.

Dapporto's drawback is that the square regularly hosts concerts, sports events, and celebrations. Some spaces close on those days. Read temporary signs even if navigation apps show the car park as open.

How Sanremo's blue zones work

Blue lines, or strisce blu, mark paid street parking. Published nonresident rates are:

The normal paid period is Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. City blue zones are usually free overnight and on Sundays. Exceptions occur by the sea, on tourist dates, holidays, and near temporary events. Older municipal lists give special seasonal rules for Lungomare Vittorio Emanuele II, Pian di Poma, and Tre Ponti. The nearby sign and meter always take priority over an online table.

Blue spaces appear on Via Roma, Corso Cavallotti, Corso Matuzia, Corso Imperatrice, Via Nino Bixio, Corso Nazario Sauro, Corso Orazio Raimondo, Via Fiume, Corso Garibaldi, Via Pallavicino, Via Agosti, Via Martiri della Libertà, and other central streets. The municipal regulations list zones A, B, and B1, although markings and temporary restrictions may have changed.

Pay at the meter with coins or a card if supported, or through the parking app named on the meter. In 2024, Sanremo accepted six apps, with EasyPark used most often (SanremoNews). Apps may add a service fee.

Private garages in the center

Autosilo Colombo

Autosilo Colombo is at Piazza Cristoforo Colombo, 51/A, by pedestrian Via Matteotti and Teatro Ariston. It is open 24 hours; telephone +39 0184 591283.

I found no official current price list. The nearest published guide gives €2/hour, €12 for the first 12 hours, and €24 for 24 hours, but explicitly calls these approximate (Dal Musicista Guest House). Call before a long stay because festival and event rates may differ.

Autosilo Via Volta

Autosilo Via Volta is at Via Alessandro Volta, 99/A. This automated mechanical garage does not accept every vehicle. Its site specifies a standard gearbox and handbrake and excludes hybrids. Confirm vehicle dimensions too.

Entry and exit operate 24/7; the desk assists visitors from about 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Request the current price and vehicle compatibility on WhatsApp at +39 347 349 4646. The Autosilo Via Volta website publishes these conditions. Old directories suggest about €20 per day, but I would not budget from that figure without a reply from the garage.

Portosole

Portosole parking is inside the marina at Via del Castillo, 17. Entry uses number-plate recognition or a timed ticket. The parking is unattended, although access is controlled and staff work on the site.

Portosole does not publish the price online. The current rate appears at the entrance and payment machines. Pay by cash or card at a machine, but exit accepts electronic payment only. You have 15 minutes to leave after payment. The official Portosole regulations list these terms. Marina telephone: +39 0184 500349.

Other private garages

Smaller private facilities also operate in the center. Their reception hours and prices change more often, and some require you to leave the keys.

Garage De Matteis publishes its booking conditions and online rate. Ask the other garages on the day. A small private facility can guarantee entry, but do not assume 24/7 access without confirmation.

Parking by the beaches

For central beaches and the seafront, use Calvino/Dapporto, street spaces on Corso Imperatrice and Lungomare Vittorio Emanuele II, or western parking around Foce. Arrive in the morning in summer because the most convenient coastal spaces fill before the central garages.

Tre Ponti has a separate summer 2026 system. Parking costs €1/hour from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on June 27-28, July 1-August 31, and September 5-6 and 12-13. It is free on other dates unless signs impose another rule (SanremoNews).

Pian di Poma is about 3 km west of the center. Free car spaces exist by the sports facilities on Via Grande Torino, and the Run for the Whales 2026 logistics explicitly identify the site as free (event organizer). Parts of Corso Guglielmo Marconi may be paid. Do not use a bus, campervan, or sports-team bay simply because the barrier is open.

Is there free parking in Sanremo?

White lines are free unless a sign sets a time limit, residents-only restriction, or parking-disc requirement. Ordinary city blue zones are generally free overnight and on Sundays, with exceptions in seasonal areas and during events.

Do not rely on finding a white space in the center. If you need Via Matteotti or the Ariston, circling nearby streets quickly cancels the saving. For several hours, the predictable €12 daily blue-zone rate may be better.

Piazza Eroi Sanremesi is not currently an option. A new underground garage with more than 200 spaces is under construction and is due for completion in February 2027 (Il Secolo XIX). Old maps and articles recommending the market area on Piazza Eroi are misleading.

Campervan parking

Since late July 2026, Green Park Pian di Poma has accepted campervans at Via Grande Torino. It has 96 pitches and a maximum stay of 36 hours.

The 24-hour price varies from €39 to €52 by season. Electricity, hot showers, and some other services cost extra. Waste-water disposal, Wi-Fi, sanitary facilities, laundry, and children's and dog areas are available. A July 28, 2026 report confirms the opening and rates (La Stampa).

After Green Park opened, police began fining campervans parked nearby in areas not intended for overnight stays. An ordinary car space does not become a campsite because the vehicle fits. During the 2026 festival, campervans used temporary P06 by Darsena di Arma di Taggia; that was an event system, not a year-round alternative.

Parking during the Sanremo Festival

The normal system does not operate during the festival. Parts of the center close, municipal garages are reserved, and remote sites use a single event rate with shuttle buses.

In 2026, P01-P06 operated from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. Cars cost €20 per day, including a free transfer for every passenger. Sites were at Pian di Poma, Lungomare Vittorio Emanuele II, Lungomare Salvo D'Acquisto, Strada Tre Ponti, Lungomare Bussana, and Darsena di Arma di Taggia. Do not use €20 as a forecast for the next festival. Open the latest Comune di Sanremo page because zones, entrances, shuttle hours, and prices are approved separately each year.

Parking for disabled visitors

A vehicle displaying a valid European CUDE permit may park free in municipal blue zones, Palafiori, and Calvino/Dapporto. Display it clearly behind the windscreen. When leaving Dapporto, contact staff by intercom and provide the registration and permit details. The official Sanremo accessibile page explains the procedure.

Private garages do not automatically provide free parking. Ask about the rate and elevator access. During an event, even the nearest formally accessible facility may be impractical if its CUDE space or approach is blocked.

Motorcycles and scooters

Municipal rules exempt bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles from payment in city street-parking areas. Use marked motorcycle bays. Free parking does not permit the pavement, loading zones, or prohibited spaces. Section 5 of the regulations contains the exemption.

Portosole also accepts motorcycles but is private and has its own price. Its rules allow motorized two-wheelers from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; check the price at the payment point.

Which car park should you choose?

• Teatro Ariston and Via Matteotti: Palafiori or Autosilo Colombo.
• Station, Villa Ormond, and Portosole: Nuova Stazione Ferroviaria.
• Forte Santa Tecla, seafront, and casino: Calvino/Dapporto.
• Several days: the station's weekly rate or Autosilo Via Volta after confirmation.
• Tre Ponti Beach: the seasonal beach lot.
• Campervan: Green Park at Pian di Poma.
• Festival: only the latest event map with remote sites and shuttles.

On my first drive to Sanremo, I would enter Palafiori in the navigation system and keep Nuova Stazione as a backup. A private garage makes sense for an overnight or multi-day stay. I would save the search for a free central space for a Sunday morning outside festival dates and the summer peak.
