From Ancient Times to Modern Day
The old town of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its fortifications and labyrinthine streets, offers a glimpse into the past, telling stories of maritime trade and battles. Venturing through Montenegro, you'll find ancient ruins, medieval monasteries, and churches that stand as testaments to the country's complex history and resilience. It is worth noting that Kotor’s Old Town is significantly larger than Budva’s Old Town, yet both of these historic sites have their own fascinating stories and are well worth a visit. Just like in Kotor, Budva’s Old Town is not only rich in historical landmarks but also offers a variety of cozy cafes, restaurants, and numerous hotels where visitors can stay and fully immerse themselves in the authentic charm of these remarkable areas.

Culinary Delights
Montenegrin cuisine is a reflection of its geographical diversity and history, offering a delightful mix of Mediterranean flavors and Balkan heartiness. Seafood lovers will rejoice in the fresh catch from the Adriatic, while meat and cheese from the northern highlands offer flavors enriched by the mountain air. Traditional dishes are must-tries, local wine and rakija (fruit brandy, the alcohol content ranges from 40% to 60%). Local drinks are a perfect complement to any meal, embodying the spirit and warmth of Montenegrin hospitality. The most common Montenegrin dishes are pljeskavica, prsut, fried fish, calamari, and mussels.
